In Apple Developer Academy, we live, learn, and strive through challenges. We believe that we will only grow when we are faced with challenges.

Aura Team !

Today is the day where we, the Apple Developer Academy Indonesia graduates showcased our apps. I’m going to share with you the application that my team and I made, the application that we’re most proud of so far.

We created Aura, an application to help people with epilepsy to alert their surroundings before the seizure happens, so the people with epilepsy can get the proper first aid/treatment during a seizure. This application is mainly inspired by the story of John’s brother who passed away for not getting the proper first aid during a seizure.

People often see PWE (People with Epilepsy) who experience seizures as someone who is drunk, someone who has a contagious disease, or even someone who just got possessed by evil. Hence no one dare or has the willingness to help.

These misconceptions are the main cause of why people with epilepsy didn’t get the proper first aid during seizures. This is why we created Aura. We wanted to fight these misconceptions and we want people to know that everyone can help.

In the making of Aura app, we are beyond blessed to be able to work comfortably from home. At first, we were a bunch of strangers who never met in person, even up until now. The Aura team started up with 5 people John, Doni, Nabilah, Alldo, and me. And in the Final Challenge, our team grew with more talented developers coming in Stevhen, Hubert and Christian.

John and Doni work passionately to design the UI/UX. They have the ability to balance out aesthetics and functionality. Designing an app for emergency situation sure is a challenge. But they were able to work it out very well.

Nabilah, Stevhen, Alldo, Hubert, Christian, and I worked on the codes. The tech team works like magic, we are able to challenge ourselves to work with frameworks that we have never worked with before and still managed to upload the app on the App Store right on time.

In Aura App we implemented SwiftUI, CoreData, CloudKit, Push Notifications, HealthKit, CoreLocation, MapKit, SiriKit, WidgetKit, Sign-in with Apple, AVFoundation, Gesture Recognition/Haptic, and WatchKit.

In Apple Developer Academy, we live, learn, and strive through challenges. We believe that we will only grow when we are faced with challenges.

We are also very very grateful to our group mentor who has been with us since Mini Challenge 3, ko Phil and ko David. Who tirelessly helping us with our research, our codes, and design. We wouldn’t be able to finish our app without your help. We are very grateful to have such a cool, fun, and inspiring mentor like ko Phil and ko David.

We are forever grateful to Apple Developer Academy @ BINUS for giving us the opportunity to develop great apps and provide us with the tools and the knowledge that we needed.

You can now download our app on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/tt/app/aura-seizure-helper/id1537345548?ign-mpt=uo%3D2
